The Universe does not care

by

The Universe does not care.  It can not care.  And that is comforting.

Personally I prefer the knowledge that suffering and evil are just “evolved and contingent” happenings rather than the thought that an omnipotent and omniscient Presence allows them, even if It knows better and has the power to prevent them.

The excuse that these negatives that are part of the fabric of reality as a consequence of our choices as humans is completely unconvincing.

If I were omnipotent and omniscient I could design a Universe where these things didn’t exist.  For one thing, because I see the intentional “allowing them to exist” as an act of intense evil, and I am opposed to evil.  There is no excuse.

For any “well, it had to be this way so that…” apologist “argument” presented, I can think of an endless number of initial conditions I could incorporate into my Universe that would invalidate that argument.  And I am not omnipotent or omniscient.

No, the Universe does not care, but it is also not vengeful or capricious.  It is most certainly not jealous.  That gives you a head-start once you recognize it.
